Uniform Distribution
Each August, ΓΩ distributes uniforms to the 300-strong VMB. This includes fitting uniforms, as well as dispensing uniform accessories such as warm-up attire, shakos, plumes, and spatterdashes. After football season, ΓΩ collects and organizes uniforms, so that they can be sent off for cleaning and ready for the next season. In addition, ΓΩ distributes and collects uniforms for our concert band as well as basketball pep bands.
Happy Birthday, VMB!
Each October 14th, ΓΩ sponsors a birthday party after band practice. This usually includes cupcakes or cookies - in blue and gold, of course - and is a great way for the entire VMB to celebrate our storied ranks.
Pitt Band Thanksgiving
Each November, ΓΩ organizes a Thanksgiving dinner for the entire VMB. The VMB's favorite annual event, each sister contributes a dish for the dinner and all proceeds go to a food shelter in the Pittsburgh area.
ΓΩ in the Community
In the Pittsburgh community, ΓΩ's service resume includes involvement at the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra's Fiddlesticks event, organizing a clothing drive during dorm-move-out, playing music at nursing homes, and helping out Girl Scout troops earn their music badges.
Fundraising
Proceeds from our fundraisers are used for the general costs of Gamma Omega's day-to-day functioning, as well as helping to cover travel costs for sisters who represent Gamma Omega at the Precinct, District, and National Conventions.

Socials
Each week the sisterhood participates in a variety of socials including study socials at the library, coffee at Dunkin' Donuts, lunch at the William Pitt Union, and more! On occasion, the sisterhood ventures out of Oakland and into the Greater Pittsburgh Area to have some fun! These adventures include trips to Trax Farms' Fall Fest, the Carnegie Museums, Pride Marches, Women's Marches, knitting and crafting nights, and a local cat cafe. Our sisterhood loves having fun with our brothers in KKΨ and MKY! Joint socials include getting half-price late-night food at Fuel & Fuddle or Stack'd, our annual wing night with MKY, and attending events in the Cultural District with KKΨ.
